A Hairy Tale is an exploration of persistent and changing views on hair, image and identity and its various connotations of beauty, shame, disgust, religion, disease or punishment. Inspired by the tale of Rapunzel and the Bearded Lady Sideshow, seven sisters group explore these themes in the intimate as well as exposing spaces of the Spiral Booths tower.


seven sisters group has been making innovative performance work for more than 15 years. Their projects are described as leading in the field of site-specific practice. The group’s works have been presented in the UK and across Europe, in venues ranging from galleries, libraries and railway stations, to the Royal Opera House and the National Theatre.
